all characters should have identity issues and avoid any inspection of their thoughts and feelings to the point of making idiotic and insane decisions because they can’t think too hard or they’ll accidentally know themselves and therefore they run like hell whenever anyone gets too close to them or they’ll know themselves through another and there’s nothing worse than that. imo
