There is some speculation going on that Director Crave, who runs Exceed, is actually Amethio's father. He was shown wearing a wedding ring, which strikes me as very specific (he seems to be married). He also has dark hair, like Amethio (Amethio's hair color resembling both Crave and Gibeon). And Crave being the director of a company implies wealth, and the Explorers have lots of advanced technology.
According to Amethio's words, he doesn't want to be like his father and plans on inheriting Gibeon's will and help him. Which makes it seem like his father did not take up Gibeon's will for some reason (maybe because he wanted to follow his own path, or realized Gibeon was shady?). We don't know if Amethio's father is Gibeon's son or his stepson either so far. It also feels like Crave genuinely wants to improve both trainers and Pokemon's lives through his research, and his aspirations are similar to Friede's. He also said that there are some things he cannot disobey, even as a director (so maybe Gibeon's influence regarding the research on Rakurium?).
It would be interesting if it turned out to be true. Friede already had ties to both Liko and Roy's relatives, the two protagonists, before they even met each other. Friede knew Lucca, Liko's mother, who was his teacher back when he was young. She inspired him to choose his own future and led him to meeting Cap, which changed his life. And eventually, he met Liko (and now, he is becoming to Liko what Lucca was to him). Friede also knew Roy's grandfather, since he mentioned that he took care of him back in HZ004. Roy's grandfather also knew of Friede's professor status, and Friede seems to really respect him (and he is now taking care of Roy and taking responsability for him). So, I feel like it could make some sense in terms of narrative parallels if Friede also knew one of Amethio's relatives before even meeting him, just like with Liko and Roy. Crave took interest in Friede's research and his thesis, and it's the reason why Friede got to work at Exceed, after all.
