Me now:

WIP of my very old and very dead OC which I revived to port into Genshin.

He's a half loch-folk hydro catalyst user who often zones out near large bodies of water and yes he will slap you in the face with his hydro sleeve if you startle him.

quick bio: He was tossed from the cliffs around oceanid's lake as a child and left to drown, Rhodeia took pity on him and saved his life. She calls him "xiaoyu" > little rain(drop) (heheh, get it?) He is missing an arm (which is why he was abandoned) and he is mute but more on that when I get around to drawing more of him :')

In regards to my former post about the weapons for these fine gentleman, I have officially found more satisfying weapons. The Frostbearer for Wriothesley. The Flowing Purity for Neuvillette--at level 20 no refinement atm, it's as if I didn't change much from the level 90 r4 weapon (the Widsith).

Neuvillette is my first character to have a maxed talent 😭

A bit more lore on my Genshin OC, Xiǎoyǔ:

Xiaoyu's control over Hydro stems from having merged with a lochfolk spirit as a child. Normally a human soul would lose all sense of self but a child's soul is malleable enough to move with the continuously shifting tides. This is not without consequences and as such the precarious state of Xiaoyu's submerged soul can be read on his body.

The slowing waters has decelerated Xiaoyu's aging process but this has also left other marks. While his arm was lost during his time with his mortal family, Xiaoyu's ability to communicate with the human realm, to see and to speak, began to change as he matured.

Xiaoyu lost his ability to speak normally the day after he emerged from Rhodeia's lake. Instead of speaking as humans do, Xiaoyu can only speak through water and those in contact with his hydro. If he wants to speak to you he will reach out with his hydro and his voice will carry through to you but once that physical connection breaks you will no longer hear him.

Many decades ago, after a long battle defending Rhodeia from the hydro Archon's new spies, Xiaoyu lost vision in his left eye. Instead of seeing as human see, his left eye can see as the water sees and through it Xiaoyu is capable of scrying long distances, all the better to foresee enemy movements.

All of these changes reflect the Lochfolk's ability to meld minds and share memory but also represent a dissolution of his mortal self. The more Xiaoyu exerts his hydro abilities the more the human half of his soul sinks deeper into the waters, eventually transforming more and more of his senses and for now Xiaoyu resists, for he is still curious about the world he was thrown out of as a child. Therefore the rate at which his descension occurs reflects the strength of his attachment to the two realms that he straddles - Human or Spirit?

Regardless of which he chooses, inevitably Xiaoyu will lose all of his human senses, shed his mortal body and become a pure elemental being but until then he chooses to travel with you.
