I didn’t use Brett. Your fellow white AOS fans did. You used his white face, his character Grant Ward to hide your gross racism behind. Maybe it wasn’t you yourself that writes Hydra apologism, or insists on stating that Ward isn’t Hydra but someone else in your group probably does. Its your corner of fandom that has used Brett’s work as Grant Ward to incite racist, white supremacist ideology and come hating into my inbox and its your fellow white fans that excuse all the shitty things his character has done (kidnapped and threatened to rape Skye, killed Victoria Hand and blamed her for it) as well as all the shitty things that Hydra has done even when it wasn’t Ward that was doing it (none of you care for Mike Peterson, his son Ace, Skye getting shot). You have no problem pointing out that certain things are the writers fault (making him “sympathetic” enough for Ward stans to defend via misogynistic, racist contortions y’all pass for “logic”) or asking the fans to elevate him and stand with him to the point that he’s now got an award because Ward stans are so freaking dedicated.

I wasn’t the one that mixed the two up. I wasn’t the one that voted for Brett to get that award because of his work as a villain. 

I never incited anyone to hate Brett Dalton, by all accounts he’s been lovely to his fans and his fellow actors. But what I can’t fathom is how he gets treated so well for being another white dude, while Meghan can’t get a fucking break just because she’s “in the way” of a fanon ship and just the fact that she’s not white gets her so much more hate than Haley Web (the actress who played Jennifer Blake) ever got. I don’t want people to hate Brett I’m calling to light how much adoration he gets just he’s a) white b) because of his fucked up character. 

I brought Brett Dalton into my discussion because I’m sick to death of Ward stans like you who think that racism is not an issue for us in fandom. He only got that award because his fanbase is so huge. How do you think it feels to see Ming Na Wen who I’ve been watching since she was on ER not have a fanbase anywhere near his size even though she’s extremely talented and been in the business nearly two decades longer?

Or J August Richards who I first saw on Good Burger again back in the ‘90’s and through his run on Angel where again he was just a side character not a main character like Ward is now. Again he’s been in the business since the late ‘80’s his character Deathlok is from the comics and he’s still not even being bumped up to series regular? 

Megan and Bret are human beings and white or Poc or poka dotted with fur should be separate from their characters.

How fucking dare you come here with your grossly racist comparisons. You literally cannot even say “black” but you have no problem confusing people of color with animals. This isn’t the first time a Ward stan has forgotten what people of color actually look like. Y’all either compare us with fictional aliens or animals and I’m fucking tired of it.

You wanna know something? I didn’t always hate Ward I’d even gone so far as writing fanfiction for him when he and May were together. But I think its a goddamn shame that he’s being elevated when the only thing that makes him worthy is that he’s white. I liked Ward just fine before he shot Victoria Hand. I didn’t even care that he was boring. Now I get annoyed at the thought of him because you people can’t bear the thought of anyone calling your entire standwithWard movement for what it is, racist white people picking the yet another white guy to obsess over all and forgive for his villainy. 

I don’t hate Ward because hate is something I reserve for bigger things. The truth is I can’t stand his fandom and their (your) obsession with him obligates his racist fans to come into my inbox to spew their racist shit in my space.
