I became a BTS fan in October 2015, less than 2 months later 2016 Season's Greetings was released, which included the video of the manager threatening Jk with physical violence. I had to take a break to decide if I wanted to keep going down this rabbit hole, more so because at the time there were a lot of videos of idols collapsing on and off stage. For good or bad I decided to stay, mainly because I saw something special in BTS, but obviously (maybe not obviously?) I never got on the "Big Hit is such a nice company" train.
This Soobin video has crushed me in a similar manner, because I hoped that the next group wouldn't have to go through the same thing, but I guess I was just naive. And even, then we know that the mental and emotional abuse has always been there.
The biggest betrayal in this story for me has been ARMYs, because I also naively thought that they would always be on the side of the members, but well...
BTW, this was the real-time reaction of the person running one of the biggest BTS tumblrs at the time (can't post screenshots as anon, sorry): "im not faulting bighit tbh, but only that manager and if bighit really do not know how he is to the kids"

Off the top of my head: Jungkook, Taehyung, TXT Soobin, TXT Taehyun, unnamed hyungs training at same time as TXT who "got it worse", Ateez Wooyoung, Ateez Yeosang, NewJeans... all of them have bad experiences with Bighit ON RECORD. From a time when they were minors. That's just the ones who revealed something so it's not wild to assume there are more.
That's not just "only that manager". That's an issue of a poor workplace culture that does not consider the wellbeing of the minors in it's care. And actually... allegedly not much consideration for the adults either.
I do want to talk about it. Endlessly in fact. Because Bighit as was and Hybe as they are now are a cesspool of Dubious Stuff and the fact that company stans exist is really grotesque to me.
