( ☯ ) Our muses are trying on goofy glasses and hats at a novelty store.
"What do you think about this one?" Lev reaches for the top shelf, plucking a mess of soft fake fur from the array of other winter hats. He smooths his fingers over the plush white fabric, initially attracted to the hat because of the two pompom puffs dangling from each side of it; upon closer inspection, the hat is revealed to have fluffy cat ears erupting from the top of it. Lev’s gemstone colored eyes widen with delight. “Oh my god, Yachi, it’s aaaaaaawesoooome!”
He tugs the hat on immediately and hurries over to the mirror that’s propped up against the far end of the shop. It’s actually pretty cute…but absolutely, wonderfully ridiculous when coupled with a pair of neon green sunglasses, the kind equipped with a plastic built-on mustache that dangles over your upper lip. Lev clamps his hand over his mouth to supress the laughter threatening to bubble up and out of his chest…and he ends up snorting, a sound that earns them another peeved look from the shopkeeper.
"Try this one!" Lev giggles through the screen of his fingers, pushing a hat at Yachi. A duck shaped hat. "See? It totally suits you! I mean, Karasuno is a school full of poultry, right?”
{ Yams & Yachi; Not a date, nope. Totally not. }
When Tsukishima had mentioned his brother was meeting him from school and that they were going somewhere he had been a little put out, not least because Yamaguchi’s parents weren’t home and he had had plans with the blond to both spend the evening and eat dinner at his house. So, to find that Yachi had to wait around for an hour or two because she had forgotten her keys and her dad didn’t get back till late seemed, well, just a good opportunity. He hadn’t really talked to her too much despite her constant and oddly, reassuring presence. Mainly because she had always taken the initiative when it was anything necessary. He didn’t overthink it, wasn’t that sort of person; the latter was a lie. He overthought everything: what would make him stand out least, what would make him stand out most? Should he cross the road to avoid those intimidating upper years? Should he avoid that alley? Would he get beaten up? A plethora of questions and thoughts to which much experience of bullying had loaned to. Despite that, it felt good to sip at his water bottle as he waited for Kageyama to finish talking to Yachi so he himself could mumble an invitation to eat together; just as friends. Obviously. Wondering if as would accept, even though it would be cheap noodles or something of the sort.
