"I don't believe we've been formally introduced?" from Lucy Gray @hvbris
First Meetings Sentences, Vol. 3
When Mycroft had received the invitation to see his cousin's ill-advised paramour sing at a club, his first thought was to immediately say no. Unfortunately, the invitation had been delivered via his boyfriend, and Caesar, being the fan of all things shiny and show business that he was, was incredibly keen on going.
His second though was therefore to orchestrate matters so he was too busy to attend on time, missing the singing and, with luck, potentially the meeting altogether. To some degree, this had worked. Mycroft managed to skip the majority of the singing, though he had still caught the end of it. He had also been quickly spotted by Caesar, who seemed to possess the uncanny ability to spot him in a crowd, and the next thing Mycroft knew, he was being dragged backstage to say hello properly.
It had been clear that no amount of protesting was going to change the situation. Mycroft had lingered at the side of their small group, watching rather than engaging, until Coriolanus had taken Caesar away to discuss a topic that he neglected to elaborate on in private with him. That left Mycroft alone, forced to converse with Lucy Gray (a stupid name. Why did she need two?).
"No, we have not," he warily confirmed, though it was now his turn to refuse to elaborate. "There has been no reason for us to meet."
