Re: Reptile Expos in 2020
Hi guys! Earlier in the year I was scheduled to be a vendor at the spring Wasatch Reptile Expo back in May. Like many things around that time, and for good reason, it was cancelled. I asked to have my deposit held onto in hopes of vending at the fall show.
Wasatch Reptile Expo, and Magic Valley Exotic Pet Expo are still going full steam ahead with their October and September shows respectively. But with the pandemic in my area getting worse, not better, and the studio I was taking classes from and working out of being closed since March I have decided to not vend this year.
I'm working from home and honing my skills. Experimenting with techniques and materials. I really hope I can sell some of my wares at expos and conventions in the future. I think it's honestly for the better because my quality and skill has improved a lot this year. And it's taken pressure off having to make things for an expo or two and instead getting to expand my skillset. Like I would have never thought of selling mugs but now that I'm getting comfortable in my snake mug designs that will definitely be on the table!
Tldr; I will not be a vendor at any of the reptile expos in my area (namely Wasatch Reptile Expo and Magic Valley Exotic Pet Expo) this year despite that they have not been cancelled. Hope to maybe meet some of you in 2021!
