dot “lines” for circulation; “lines of influence” for the site……it is interesting to read the commentary of the architects on this type of diagram.

note the “reference drawing” underneath, an outline of the coastline to indicate land versus golf of mexico (with a large red dot for new orleans). this is necessary so that the viewer can locate the various paths of the hurricanes and place them into their proper location.
