LOGH seems to have lasted much longer than your other recent anime fandoms, I'm starting to get curious about it: what things about it appeals to you most?
Iiiiii liiiiiike stupid transitional local-apocalypse epics with big casts, see: Star Wars, ASOIAF, SNK, Silmarillion, Friends at the Table, kind of Fate/Zero, etc. so there’s a mindless attraction in play, like that which exists between a roomba and a tricky corner. I think LOGH specifically does a good job with humor, anticlimax, subtle inventive character work (sometimes), and paying a lot of attention to human limitations… There’s a nice feeling of like… a closed frame, set bounds and fixed resources, without that being the entire story; it’s about how there’s nowhere to run from grueling space war, but also there would be everywhere to go if people could afford five seconds to think. about something else. But no one ever gets that five seconds!! Good story
