Dear Amelia,

I’m not one to be sappy or emotional, we both know this a bit too well, but you are, without a doubt the closest thing I’ve ever had to a sister, and the only long lasting friendship I have ever had…with anyone. 

You make me feel like it’s okay to drop my guard, to open up and show a bit of who I am underneath all that armor. So many of my happy memories are of you and me. I will bet you my heaven will be filled with them, that is, if I get into heaven. 

I’ve never had people stay in my life for very long, nor have I had someone who has been so devoted to protecting me, to be the best family I could have. You are the sister I never had, but always wanted. I am glad to call you my best friend, and it makes me even happier to be able to be your family. I will always protect you with my life, and it’s weird to call a person home, but when I think of home, I think of you and the Salvage. But you always come to mind first.
