@hunterkind liked for a starter from Shian !
It wasnβt getting any easier.
He could feel it slipping away, this reluctance. Shian could feel himself waiting day by day. Waiting for an excuse, prepared for war β and when nothing cameβ¦ it left him feeling hollow. Useless, as though his only worth was to move and move quickly. As if he wasnβt being vigilant enough, as if he were missing something.
As if this gnawing ache in his gut was ever, ever satiated by the bodies he stood above, as he did now. But this twist in his chest was real. The nausea that crawled up his throat, the tremor that rolled through him in slow, steady waves, reminded him that his viciousness hadnβt been justified. Filled him with fear that one day, he would slip too far below the surface, unable to return. It was for a good purpose, he reasoned. These men didnβt deserve to live. Heβd kept the woman that had run away safe, and heβd do it again for her. For all of them. He could live with every life taken by his hands that wished, above all, to healβ¦
So why did part of him want to dip below this river of blood?
Shaken from his thoughts by approaching footsteps, Shian stiffened. They were coming from behind, as the carnage lay plainly before him; Shianβs face lightly coated with blood and hands dripping with it. Slowly he turned β but shock stilled the blade in his hand at the sight of Sungwoo.
ββ¦ You really have bad timing.β
