In Arabic folklore, the nasnas is a creature which is said to appear as half a human being. It has only one eye, one arm, one leg and half a body and head, yet can hop around with startling agility.
The nasnas appears in the One Thousand and One Nights, where it is said to be the offspring of the demon Shiqq. A similar creature, or possibly a variant of the nasnas, appears in Somali folklore, where it is called the xunguruuf.
