got carlando-blocked by a teddy bear -_-
notes from fp2 - hungary
in honour of their 40th anniversary, the hungaroring have named all of their corners - turn 2 is now 'hamilton' to honour lewis, the most successful driver at this track
first weekend of aston's new and upgraded car
pierre reported that the "car feels wrong"
george reported early on that the car feels "dreadful" and that "it's extremely out of balance" - he finishes the session 0.9s off the pace
oscar ran very wide at turn 11, and went all the way onto the runoff
kimi radioed to say that he "almost span twice at turn 11, what is going on?" - was told to pit so they could adjust the balance - he finished the session 1.9s off the pace after some disrupted push laps
charles locked up twice going into turn 1
the ferraris are half a second ahead after their initial laps on the mediums at the start of the session - track has a lot of rubbering in to do, as there's so much dust on the circuit so the other teams may well catch up
charles had a big lock up into turn 12
lando was out first on the softs and set the pace early, putting together his cleanest lap of the day
verstappen was next and went up to p2
then george went out and up to p4
first few push laps from the top teams are off the ferraris pace in the final sector quite significantly - potentially not pushing as hard as they can while the track is low grip
red flag as franco goes off and into the wall at the final corner - unpredicatable grip as they go into it
isack has been off track several times, including during his push lap - not able to put a clean lap together
some debris on track - came off alonso's car and was crunched by verstappen
stroll spent the entire session in the garage having his car looked at - after his suspension failure in fp1
lando has been off at the chicane a couple of time this session
charles nearly ran into the back of george going into the final corner - charles has more grip
notes from fp1 - hungary
rookie drivers
leonardo fornaroli in for oscar
paul aron in for franco
fred vesti in for kimi
ryo hirakawa in for ollie
colton herta in for valtteri
track action
mclaren are trialling their version of a macarena rear wing - from the onboards, the slot gap looks more similar to the ferraris than the redbulls
ferrari have brought an upgraded rear wing this weekend that should hopefully increase their top speed
carlos was in verstappen's way, on the racing line - verstappen reacted strongly by braking harshly infront of carlos as they went into turn 12. verstappen reported that he 'had to slam on the brakes' - both are under investigation for driving erratically
soon after carlos reported that he had 'no radio' and that the 'cable was not connected' - probably why he didnt know verstappen was behind him on a quick lap
verstappen reporting that the 'downshifts are horrendous' and are making the car jump
lewis had a big rear snap into the final corner - just got onto the marbles and lost all grip
paul aron had a rear snap into turn 1 - bumped over the sausage kerb
charles was held up by lewis going into turn 12
lewis reporting the car is 'too stiff' overall
alex locked up into turn 1 - many having an issue with that corner
lando abandoned his first push lap - ran too wide and dipped into the geavel
george had a huge lock up into turn 1, as the car decides to go into energy regeneration rather than continuing to let him hold the speed into the corner
red flag - stroll stopped on track after a "suspension failure" -as he was going into turn 2, the rear left suspension broke, sending him spinning
green flag six minutes later
paul aron got in carlos' way on his first soft push lap - carlos reacted and got in his way, so is under investigation again for driving erratically, and was given a black and white flag
leo fornoroli locked up into turn 1 on his first push lap
carlos had a huge lock up into turn 1 - all four tyres locked and he came to a full stop in the run off - both his push laps ruined so he finished the session in last place
charles reported that "something broke" in turn 13 - made it back to the pits, but was just coasting from the pit entry to the weighbridge where he was recovered by the ferrari mechanics
could potentially be a gearbox issue, and fire extinguishers were used on the brakes - but he held onto the top spot
