"Dean." He didn't want to look, and yet he had to. He knew he wasn't going to see the righteous man anymore. He boldly reached out to cup Dean's jaw with both of his hands, his fingers firm against bones beneath flesh as he forced himself to see right into the blackness that seemed to want to devour everything.
Whatever the angel was searching for, it wasn't there. Green eyes might have been present, but the spark that had been behind them for so long wasn't. Dean didn't move at the touch, didn't try to get away. He almost tilted his head into it, but somehow he resisted. There was only the twisted darkness that lingered there now. "Cas." He repeated, both hands resting at his side as he stared at those bright blue eyes. He blinked. Just once. When his eyes reopened, the green faded away to complete black.
     "See something interesting?"
