The cow-like tail swished as curious sky blue eyes stared into yours. Long golden hair elegantly framed his face and he could well have been a super model. Long black eyelashes brushed against his cheeks as he blinked. He was so beautiful it almost hurt to look at him. Freckles was dusted onto his cheeks which gave him a charming appearance. Pointy ears slightly stuck out from his wavy hair. He pulled his lips up into a smile, revealing sharp fangs.
“Do you know that you’re adorable when you sleep? You sleep talk. Did you know that?” he bopped your nose with a long and lithe finger “Isn’t that cute?” he chuckled, his voice melodic. “I have watched countless of humans sleep before, but none has ever been as cute as you. You were stirring a whole lot. Did you have a nightmare? What did you dream about?”
You sat up in the unfamiliar bed at the speed of lightning. You pushed yourself against the headboard to keep as much distance between you and the man who definitely wasn’t human. Your heart was hammering against your ribs.
“Who are you?” you manage to say.

Vilde Svartadottir aka Ghost Orchid
My new Huldra DC oc i ship with Beast Boy and Red Hood. She's a villain cuz she kills for selfish reasons, though only targets bad people. It completes the trio of Hero (BB), Anti-Hero (RH) and Villain (GO). Also Ghost Orchids, aka Huldreblom, are flowers that represent Huldras.
Day Twenty-One - Huldra - they’re calling to you… luring you to the forest… 🌿
All of them are acting like you’d expect them to according to Scandinavian folklore: The gullible troll, the flirty huldrakarl, the suspicious gnome, the untrustworthy mermaid, and the creepy åmand (stream man or man of the stream)
Additional info: Trolls in Scandinavian folklore aren’t big dumb monsters but more like strong, less bright people of the woods/mountains. Huldrakarl is the less famous male version of the huldra. Gnomes are house spirits who help and protect the family they live with and are often the first to notice if something is off. Scandinavian mermaids are specifically said to have huge breasts which they use to lure sailors to their deaths. Though they’re often confused for each other Åmand is different from Näcken because more often than not he’s only heard but never seen, and will usually loudly announce that he plans to take a life days or even weeks before someone drowns in his waters.
And I just realized there are a lot of creatures with weird tails in Scandinavian folklore…
