OK so basically: how glass splinters and should be treated depends on the type-- pieces that may have hit arteries should not be pulled out by non-professionals (risk of bleeding out) and it's very important to pull out any glass splinters; if not done with tweezers or something like that it can push the glass further in though. glass causes a sharp needle-like pain btw! i'm not a professional but i've done writing research (and also gotten glass in my foot) but i hope this infodump helps :>
