This may be weird but when I try to imagine all the students in a nice setting, or pre timeskip, doing something like a big sleepover or a party or some fun anime plot filler episode, Edelgard and Hubert are almost never present. Even in the AU ideas of there being no war they are hardly included

A concept: Crimson Flower is Hubert’s fanfic of the game where His Lady gets everything she wants. He’s just not a very good writer. Maybe Bernie can give him lessons?

Hubert’s C support is so fucking funny to me? Hubert: “Hello incredibly skilled individual one of the most powerful people on the continent has shown blatant favouritism towards, at a point in time my lady is in a rather precarious position that one wrong move could destroy. I thought I’d make an overt threat on your life.” Byleth: “That’s nice Hubert. Homework is due on Monday and killing me won’t get you out of it.”

For the cursed retainer swap idea, Claude and Hubert interacting would be kind of funny because neither are above using toxins but Hubert is much more nefarious in his usage. Claude: If we sneak this to our foes we can incapaciate a whole army Hubert: Hmm, if you were to increase the dosage it would easily become lethal Claude: No!!!!!

Ok less angst, more sillness. Post war Edlegard, Byleth and Hubert head to Almyra on a diplomatic vist. Claude sweeps in, crown on his head and El’s like “YOU’RE THE KING OF ALMYRA!?!” Byleth responds with “Wait, Inthought Hubert told you?” El‘s eyes flick between By&Hube “you knew about this?” Hubert says, “No, how could I know this?” And Byleth’s like “I thought you read my mail...” Claude suddenly interjects with “It’s true, every letter would start with the line Hubert stop reading my mail”

Hubert: Tell me where Claude von Riegan and the Professor are and I'll burn your territoy to the ground.// Lorenz: Uh, don't you mean "or"?// Hubert: FINE! Tell me where Claude Von Riegan and the Professor are OR I'll burn your territoy to the ground.// Lorenz: Well, which is it? That sounds like a pretty crucial conjunction.

Imagine if Catherine and Hubert kept running into each other while “keeping an eye” on Byleth. Playing Rock, Paper, Scissors to see who gets the best hiding place, sometimes getting more caught up in glaring at each other than spying, leaving passive aggressive notes around campus where they know the other will find them. Byleth just pretends not to notice.

As a further point on a post I made a while back about Hubert and Felix being foils, they both hate their dad, but for opposite reasons. Felix hates Rodrigue for his blind loyalty to a family they have served for generations, for acting like the death of his son, Felix’s brother, was worth it if someone else’s kid came away fine. For viewing the royals as more important than his own family and never questioning it. Hubert, on the other hand, hates his dad for a betrayal of such loyalty. (1/2)
