Today was arguably one of the worst days of my life. I got denied admission from Howard University, and I’ve cried about 6 times now. Though I wasn’t like “yeah I’ll get in,” I wasn’t expecting a rejection either. Everyone says God has greater plans for me. That’s great and all, but it still hurts. It hurts to look at the messages from the group chat and see everyone happy because they got in, knowing I didn’t. I had to delete twitter because I found myself looking at HU23 tweets of those accepted, it only made it worse. I’m happy for everyone that got in, and I hope Joseph gets in as well, but it sucks. I don’t understand how people have lower stats, and a gpa below a 3.0, and still got in. Yet, somehow I wasn’t good enough? You think you would be able to take rejection well but I can’t. Howard was my top, and #1 choice. To be able to claim HU23 would have been a dream. What makes it worse is, I can’t appeal. It’s really fucked up on all levels. Yes I’ll get accepted into some schools I applied to, but none of them will make me feel what Howard made me felt, and to get rejected crushed my dreams. I could transfer, but for one, what if I don’t get accepted then? Two, what if they don’t take all my hard earned credits, pushing my graduation back? Would it be worth it? Right now I’m just sad. On top of school being horrible, this was the cherry on top I needed. I have no more energy left, I really need a break. I hope the new year brings more good news than bad.
