She stood in the middle of the clearing, her bronze hair pulled back tight, her jacket discarded on the grass, a long stick in her hand that resembled a q-tip. âAre you ready, mariquita?â JosĂŠ asked, peering down at the 12 year old. Rowen only replied with a strong nod. As soon as he touched the lighterâs flame to each end of the stick they lit up, burning brightly. Rowen began twirling the stick in front of her as she had been practicing for months, twirling it faster and faster until the flames seemed to be leaving a trail behind them.Â
She began to spin the stick around her body, seeming like she was in a cage of fire. So engrossed by this, she hardly noticed a grey owl land on a nearby ledge, a white letter in its beak. âRo,â her uncle called, the fireballs seeming to dull slightly as he did so. Easily her uncle moved through the people milling about towards the bird, from whom he took the letter. âSorry, sorry, I know you donât want me playing with fire,â Rowen started, before being interrupted by her uncle. âDonât worry about it, this is for you.âÂ
The letter was crisp white, her name printed across it in neat writing, the name of the circus beneath it, as well as their current location in Italy. Gingerly she opened the letter, careful not to rip the pretty paper. As soon as she opened it she saw an intricate crest, and the word Hogwarts.

Take me for what I am
Who I was meant to be
And if you give a damn
Take me baby or leave me
Overdone - Ludo
Oh oh, I am in love again
Oh oh, I am consumed by it
Oh oh, I am in love again
Under-drugged and overdone.
Our Window - Noah and the Whale
Well it's four in the morning, things are getting heavy,
And we both know that it's over, but we both are not ready
And you're talking like a stranger so I don't know what to do
And I'm callous and I'm cruel, to everyone but youÂ
Rumour - Chloe Howl
I'm just tryin' to work out
How to be like myself
I'm just tryin' to work out
These cards I've been dealt
Bloom - The Paper Kites
Can I take it to a morning
Where the fields are painted gold
And the trees are filled with memories
Of the feelings never told?
Fuck You (Very Much) - Lily Allen
Fuck you
Fuck you very, very much
'Cause your words don't translate
And it's getting quite late
So please don't stay in touch

To tell him how my heart it's going crazy
It feels like I got hit by a train

He said listen you fool you're falling in love again
The Bitch of Living - Spring AwakeningÂ
Its the bitch of living
Nothing going onÂ
Just the bitch of living asking what went wrong!
Do they think we want this?
Oh, who knows
A childhood story? Uh... thereâs so many! I was a child for a while! I donât want to talk about piano, because that was hell. Absolute hell. Itâs not even happy or anything. I hated playing the damned thing. Hmm... aha! I got it. This is funny.Â
When I was a first year, I was 13 or 14, because my parents are dumb and almost got cursed by some Ministry higher ups, but thatâs besides the point. One of the first couple days of school, I met Emma Grace Knightley. Sheâs one of my really good friends now, but also besides the point. We were sitting next to each other in some class, I donât really remember which one anymore, but I looked over at her paper, and she had written âEG Knightley.â My 13, 14 year old brain put an extra G at the end of the EG. And in the middle of class, very loudly, I yell, âYour name is EGG?âÂ
It was very embarrassing. That was the day I learned to look more closely, and actual read.â
Describe your characterâs height and build. Are they tall and big boned? Petite in frame, and yet muscular? Felicia is about 5â˛6âł with a very willowy build. However, even though she is slim, she has the muscles of a ballet dancer. You would not want to be on the other end of one of her kicks. However she is losing some of her tone, has her health is beginning to keep her from dancing so much.
How does your character move? Are they clumsy, graceful, do they have any habits in their movements? For someone who sometimes has to carry an oxygen tank, she is remarkably graceful. She tends to walk on her toes and when she is standing still or walking slowly her feet tend to move through dance positions she is going through in her head.
Describe your characterâs voice. Is it high or low pitched? Hoarse? Clear? Her voice is not all that high or low, but she speaks very clearly in a tone thatâs almost musical.
How does your character normally speak? Loud, soft, fast or slow? Do they stutter, or do they talk with ease? She starts at a normal tone but she gets louder the more cheerful and excited she is. She never stutters, though sometimes she slows to find the right words.
Does your character talk any languages other than English? If so, how well? Her father taught her to read and write in Gaelic, and she is very fluent in it.
Does your character have any distinct accent or dialect? Any distinguishable quirks in their speech? She speaks in a very strong Dublin Irish accent and loves her voice. It sounds like her dad.
How intelligent is he/she, and what type of intelligence is it? Is it book-smart, street-wise or both? Sheâs fairly book smart when she puts her mind to learn about something - dance and music for example. But her condition has made her more wise of the world than she should be at this age.
What kind of education did your character have before Hogwarts? Her father had her enrolled in a muggle elementary school before she got too sick to attend. From then on she was home schooled and her parents brought in different music teachers in the hopes to keep her busy and happy, and maybe persuade her to give up dance.
What is your characterâs default response? Flight or fight? Also, what would your character prefer to answer to this question? Would they be truthful, or lie to seem stronger? She prefers neither. Sheâs much more apt to stand her ground and talk her way out of the situation. She believes violence is always a choice, and she will only make it to defend herself when absolutely necessary. This is something she would be truthful about, she doesnât know why she would lie.
Describe your characterâs sense of humour. Also, are they more likely the one joking or the one laughing? She has a light hearted and slightly self deprecating humor that laughs at everything and can find the humor in anything. Sheâs the sort to be laughing at her own jokes.
Does your character have any diagnosable disorders? If so, how does he/she deal with them? Feliciaâs bio was vague in her sickness, so I did the research on the symptoms I knew she had in the bio and as her face claim needs oxygen help - along with the details I made up when I was too lazy to research. She has a genetic immune disorder called Chronic Granulomatous Disease in which her white blood cells are unable to kill certain viruses and fungi and increasing her risk of infections and autoimmune disorders. This weakens her lungs and heart and caused her to develop Vasculitis this last summer - an autoimmune disorder involving inflammation of the blood vessels. This is what is causing her to struggle to keep up dancing. In theory she could continue like this into old age, or she could get sick with a cold and be gone in days.
Is there anything that your character would do anything to stop other people from knowing? Any deadly secrets? This last summer Felicia was able to fulfill one of her biggest dreams when she was able to perform as Odette in a muggle performance of Swan Lake. Her opening night she got raving reviews and hailed as one of the most promising dancers in the region. However after the curtain fell, she had collapsed. This was when she was diagnosed with Vasculitis. She wasnât able to perform again until her last night, and even then it was against the advice of her doctors and wishes of her parents. Lately sheâs been exhausting herself in her dancing as she refuses to quit, and lately her practices have been cut short when she makes herself sick. Sheâs not ready to lose ballet yet, even though she likely will not have any other choice very soon.
Does your character make friends easily, or do they have trouble conversing with others? Felicia is far too kind and good humored to be unable to make friends. Even the most disagreeable people tend to soften around her, mostly because it is so difficult for her take offense at anything and can find the optimistic outlook anywhere.
What does your character usually look for in a friend? Anyone who will stand still long enough to be friends with her.
Which is more important to your character: family or friends? Or is it too hard a decision to make? Why do you think they would make that choice? Iâm not sure she can choose on who she loves most. Sheâs more comfortable with her friends, as her parents get so wrapped up in their worry for her sickness that she feels like they forget to care about her. If her parents ever drew the line to try to keep her from chasing after her dreams, that would be what finally sent her running.
Romantically, what sort of things would your character be looking for in a partner? She isnât looking for anything right now, wondering if it would be selfish. But someone who is kind and makes her laugh until sheâs breathless and can just sit together and hold her hand. Someone she can curl up next to and read with, and someone to sit with when she plays her instruments.
Where abouts does your character fall on the Kinsey scale? Felicia is very, very, much gay and is very aware of that.
How does your character sleep at night? On nights when she is doing well she is curled up tightly around a pillow. On nights when she is having trouble breathing she tends to sleep on her back, very straight, and propped up on pillows.
Is your character neat or tidy? What is their desk space and bed like? Felicia has learned to be very, very organized. She was taught from a young age to never allow a speck of dust anywhere as her parents were always so worried.
Is your character religious in any way? Do they despise other religions or those who donât believe in what they do? She doesnât think about it much, but she supposes the idea of Heaven and a loving God sounds quite nice.
What prejudices does your character hold? Are they irrational or are there good reasons behind them? She doesnât hold many, except for when people try to reason with her about giving up dance. She refuses to listen to or like any of the doctors who are pressuring her to stop.
Describe a usual day around the home of your character. Describe the house, and the setting around it. If its during the school year she wakes up, makes her bed, and runs through her stretching and exercises down in the common room. By the time she finishes sheâs still up earlier than anyone else in her house and is one of the first to have breakfast in the Great Hall. She then takes er morning walk, sometimes joined by one of her friends. Any free periods are spent dancing in an empty classroom.
When you think of your character, what associations do you make with colour, time of day and season of the year? Note: This is not your characterâs preference. I think of autumn, of pine greens and mosses - things that grow even when everything is supposed to be dying. I think of sunset in the middle of the woods with the colors bleeding through the pine needles.
What are your characterâs interests and hobbies? How do they spend their spare time? Outside of the obvious ballet, Felicia is very extensively musically gifted. She grew up learning different musical instruments and can play the piano, the harp, and the viola very well and can even hold her own on an organ and guitar. When her lungs arenât too bad she even has a nice singing voice. While she would laugh if anyone called her a composer, the notes and bars sheâs written out on almost all of her notes and assignments would suggest otherwise.
And last but not least, write a letter to your character from yourself, as the mun.
Dear Felicity,
The hardest thing in the world is realizing not everybody gets their dream come true. One of the best is realizing how incredible life still can be without it. I know how much you love dancing and the freedom and strength it gives you, but soon it will be unable to give you either. Youâre only making yourself sicker. Youâre not less for finding a new dream. Itâs just time for your next adventure.
I really admire your optimism and your strength in the face of everything. Youâre far better than I am. I picked you up towards the beginning of my recovery, I think a part of me related to you and the need to chase your dreams even when everyone else is afraid to let you. Iâm working on finding new dreams, and I hope you can too.
Maybe look a little closer at where your mind goes when youâre not thinking of anything, maybe at the music youâve written on your notes. You might find your new dream there. And maybe flirt with that cute girl in your charms class. Anything could happen.

Gracie knew that she should have listened to Caleb when  heâd told her that going out upset and lonely tonight would be a bad idea. She didnât listen though, she never did. It usually just wasnât her thing. But tonight, for whatever reason, she was fed up with being ignored by any and all boys and men in the castle.  Tonight, she was going to get dressed, go out and if drinking was the only way someone would actually care for her company so be it.
Currently, she was leaning against a wall with a three times refilled flask of fire whiskey in hand. Her body felt loose, she was feeling good. Good enough to dance like a fool ( sheâd already done that), good enough to play beer pong confidently and now, to kiss that cute ass person who sheâd been eyeing all night. âOh, fuck it,â she mutters, taking a sip from the flask and making her way over. âHey,â she says a flirty smile on her lips as she brushes her against theirs. âHappy New Year.â
What is your full name? And do you have any nicknames? If so, what are they? Felicia Annalise Trinity. My friends all either call me Trin or just Felicia.
Who are your parents, and what are they like? Greg and Amy Trinity are good parents. They love me a lot. Theyâre just . . . . they worry, you know? I mean thereâs normal parent worry and thereâs âour kid could drop dead if she catches a bad coldâ kind of worry. Theyâre more the latter. Admittedly because I can, but you get the point. My mumâs finally gone back to work at least - sheâs a healer. She stopped working when I started getting sick. She likes gardening, picking flowers, science books, decorating the house, and worrying about me. My dadâs an english teacher at a local high school - Oh, and a muggle. He likes to (try to) help my mum with the garden, putter aruond the house, bowling, cooking family meals, and worrying about me.
Do you have any siblings, and what are they like? If not, do you wish you had any siblings? No, but I always wished I did. Maybe an older brother to look out for me, or little siblings to play with. But Mum and Dad . . . I think they were trying around when I got diagnosed. But after . . .Â
What are three words that you would use to describe yourself? Optimistic maybe? Dreamer, perhaps. And dancer.
What are three words you think that other people would use to describe you? Naive maybe, ambitious, kind.
What sort of clothing do you wear outside of your school uniform? A lot of leggings, actually. Sweaters, a lot of the time. Mostly things that are easy to move and dance in.
What is your worst fear, and be honest, lying is unacceptable here. If I must be honest . .  .its not the dying that scares me. Its the idea of dying having never been anything that mattered. To go having never done anything for the world that can be remembered. To have never created anything beautiful, really loved anyone, or changed anything. Dying isnât scary, as long as there was even just one moment that it mattered that I - me specifically - was alive. Â
What do you consider your best talent? Ballet. Easy.
Have you ever considered marrying and/or having children? I mean, maybe marriage. But . . . it just doesnât seem all that reasonable? I donât think I could carry a baby to term. Adoption is possible of course. But is it responsible to think about? Sure, I might live to my old age, but I could catch a bad cold that carries me to my death in a week.
What is your favourite food and drink? Fish and chips, from a properly grimy stand on the streets of Dublin. With either a hot chocolate or a butterbeer.
Whatâs your favourite colour(s)? Blues, all kinds of blues.
What sort of music genre do you generally listen to? I alternate between classical and classic rock.
Do you enjoy reading, and whatâs your favourite genre and book? On occasion, I can enjoy a good book. Sherlock Holmes, I think.
What sort of weather do you prefer the most? A steady, wet sort of rain if you know what I mean.
What is your favourite animal? Cats. Definitely cats.
What is your patronus? If you canât conjure one yet, what do you hope it will be? I havenât, but I hope something graceful, like a swan or a horse.
What is your fondest childhood memory? My first ballet lessons.
What is your worst childhood memory? My . . . the first few rounds . . . of treatment. After I got diagnosed, when I was 5. I didnât understand what was happening. Doctors were poking me and prodding me, sticking needles in me. Mom and dad couldnât always be in the room and everything hurt. It was just . . . scary.
What would you like to do when you graduate? Or if you already have, what did you want to become when you graduated? I really would love to be a dancer in one of the wizarding ballet troupes! Their performances are just breathtaking.
What is your favourite muggle invention? Ballet. We may add some actual magic to it now, but they made it magic before we ever did.
If your life were to be a movie, what genre would it be? I drama comedy? A dromedy?
What do you like best about yourself? How big I dream and never lose hope, I think.
Do you have any occupations outside of Hogwarts? If so, what are they? Last summer I danced for a muggle youth and young adult troupe in Dublin. It was incredible! I got to dance as Odette!
Where do you live? In case it wasnât obvious before, I live out on the dge of Dublin with my parents. Weâve got a bit of land far enough away to not have all the noise, but close enough to be able to go for all the fun.
And finally, if you were to go on a holiday anywhere around the world, where would it be? Okay, I know it isnât a holiday but I would love to take a semester abroad at The Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts.
