So, a while back a Google Chrome user created an extension that disabled HTML5 videos that auto play on any given website despite the presence of ad blockers or other applications.ย
Iโve only just found out about it and intended on using it because Iโm fucking tired of auto play videos that canโt be bypassed. But, apparently, the userโs extension was targeted by webmasters who took issue with the fact that his extension prevented videos from auto-playing.ย
Now the extension has been rendered null and void. Itโs no longer maintained, but for whatever reason Chrome keeps it on its store page??? In either case, itโs frustrating because no one has created a replacement and you canโt right click the HTML5 supported videos and use ad-block to disable it.
