The old library was quiet in that cozy, dust-filled way that made every sound feel important. Sunlight slanted through tall windows, illuminating millions of tiny particles floating lazily in the air.Emma ran her finger along the spine of an ancient book and smiled. The smell of paper and age always got to her. She inhaled gently… then paused. Her nose tingled. She wrinkled it slightly, brushing it with the back of her hand. The tickle grew stronger, sharper, as she drew in another breath. She tilted her head back just a little, eyes fluttering shut.“Hh’isss…”She froze, breath held, shoulders lifting.Nothing.She exhaled softly, laughing under her breath, but the dust wasn’t finished with her yet. A deeper inhale this time sent the sensation rushing back. Her nose twitched helplessly.“Hh’isshhhISSHHH’uhh…!”The sneeze burst out, loud in the quiet room.“HHH’TSCHOOO!”She blinked, recovering, then let out a relieved sigh. A moment later, another sharp tickle followed.“Oh no… again?” she murmured, barely getting a breath in before“HH’TSCHhhOOO! …HHH’TSCHOO!”She laughed, shaking her head, cheeks slightly flushed. The library returned to silence, dust still dancing in the sunlight, as she reached for a tissue and smiled to herself before continuing her browsing j ust a little more carefully this time.
