As of today I've been on t for six months! Here's how it's been going:
Joint pain
- unfortunately the increased muscle mass in my shoulders has significantly worsened the muscle guarding going on, so they've been acting up lately, but we're going to work on that in physiotherapy
Joint stability
-no major changes from last time
Muscle growth
- I've gained at least 20 lbs of muscle in the past 3 months
- My legs and butt are basically all muscle now and my arms are thick enough that some of my long sleeve shirts don't fit anymore
Voice
-nothing :(
Hair
- I now have exactly one dark chest hair
- a few days ago my wife noticed the very beginnings of a shitty moustache and the hair at the edges of my jaw are longer, but still very light and thin
Skin
- no real changes
Bottom growth
- has mostly settled out
Other
- between my new base temp and my anxiety meds I can no longer leave the house when it's over 20°C or else I get drenched in sweat
- also crotch and belly button sweat are now a thing and it's awful
Semi-regular update: my full vocal range is the same size as it was before I started T back in 2023. It has shifted down about 5 whole steps, and the quality is very different, but once again I feel like I have a good strong flexable voice, and this one actually feels like my own. There were times during the first year where I was so frustrated with my voice and how narrow my range was. And even throughout the second year, I couldn’t quite figure out how to switch between my new head and chest registers.
But now, I’m a phenomenal singer who can sing counter-tenor to baritone, and has a full resonance throughout. If you are scared to start T because you’re worried about not being able to sing well…for a couple years you won’t be, but your voice will come back eventually, and any training you had prior to the drop will still be applicable.
Starting HRT was the best decision I’ve ever made. It hasn’t fixed my life, but the quality of it is vastly better. I’m still relatively early in transition so there is more to come, but I can already see glimpses of the future and it looks good.
Since changes have really slowed down I think I'm going to switch to 3 month updates unless something exciting happens, so I'll see you at the six month mark!
i can cum multiple times now, neato!
