depending on which edition of heated rivalry you have, Shane comes out to his team at different time. one, with the orginial two human guys' abs on the cover from 2019 says:

another one, a revised copy from 2023 (that also includes my dinner with hayden) says:

that's a big difference. and like, she published the revised version and if I did my math correctly, he came out to his team during the 2017-2018 season. aka, he got told he was gay by Rose Jan 2017, became something with Ilya Jan/Feb 2017, became official with Ilya July 2017. and then goes on to come out to his team almost immediately? sure, it doesn't say when during last season he came out, it's somewhere between Sep 2017 and May 2018. but like. in that case, he and Ilya had spent one summer together, or two weeks idk if that changed when they became official, and then was ready to come out to his team? idk about that
