We’re continuing our celebration of International Women’s Day today by spotlighting Jenni Stone, HR Director & Partner at HR Shield. 

We asked Jenni to share a story about a professional obstacle and how she overcame it, this is her response: 

We are faced with challenges throughout our professional life, as we struggle to decide what we really want to be when we grow up.  For me, that choice was becoming a business owner, entrepreneur, and thought leader.   When you make that epic decision to do an about face, a career pivot, there comes with it many challenges.  Stepping out of that comfortable cozy corporate nest, and jumping out of the tree into the unknown world screaming "I can do this!" while wildly flapping your arms, well it's scary as hell. Being your own boss sounds fun, and while it eventually will be, there comes with it a great deal of sacrifice.  You will give up time, money, and maybe a little of your sanity, the rewards far outweigh the sacrifices. It's all about building what's next, and I am ready for the challenge.
