Did you like the newest Transformers film? :)
I did actually. When I let go of Sam Witwicky, I was able to enjoy the film as a stand alone. I think myself and the fan base had become so attached to that character, it became difficult to think of the series without him. But Mark Wahlberg was an excellent choice or the transition, in my opinion. He has all the characteristics that made Shia funny. Once the movie started, I didn't miss Shia or Megan at all. (I still have trust issues when it come to Megan Fox. Long story)
I enjoyed the movie beginning to end. I wasn't sold on taking it to Hong Kong though. We have so much of that story line with Godzilla and recently, Pacific Rim. But it is what it is.
My biggest hesitation going into the film, after missing Shia, was the whole "Dinobots." Like, what the hell? And the marketing team played that up in the trailers and promo spots like it was all about that. Once I saw the film, it made more sense in their presentation of being Legendary Knights and whatnot. Honestly though, I was still kinda like... Really?
Best part though, Optimus Prime was hiding out in Paris, Texas. Everyone comes to Texas eventually. ;) As the great Davy Crockett put it on August 11, 1835, "You may all go to hell and I will go to Texas." And just because I bleed Crockett, one more for you. In 1836 he wrote back home and said, "I must say as to what I have seen of Texas, it is the garden spot of the world." Okay, history lesson over.
But overall, I really enjoyed the movie. Stanley Tucci was exceptional, as always. I wasn't sure about Nicola, just a pretty girl it seemed, but I really liked her. She could have a bright future. The Jack guy (Cade), eh. He sounded good though. Gotta love an accent. Kelsey Grammer always makes me giggle when he's a bad guy. I don't know why, I just can't bring myself to believe him. lol
Biggest complaint: There was not enough Bumblebee. I'm very partial to him.
So there you have it. You were probably just looking for a Yes/No, but I'm a Transformers nerd, so.
