As she passed by a certain member’s desk, she suddenly stops and does a double-take. There, on the otherwise empty surface, is a single folder. A completed work. She didn’t question this certain member’s current whereabouts, as this person always comes and goes, and didn’t think any further, so she reaches out to get the folder. In doing so, one of the folders in her arms slips away.

Haruno’s eyes follow the falling folder and bends to get it, but then her gaze catches a pair of eyes under the desk. Eyes the color of pitch black.

Benefit: As a pair of linked Traits, these abilities possess multiple Benefits:

Reputation For Ruthlessness: You are known, amongst those who are directly familiar with you or who know someone who has had dealings with you, as a deadly and cutthroat individual with no moral character of any kind. You are often contacted privately to deal with matters involving dangerous criminal activity, and any action you take -- regardless of how it looks -- will be treated as a scary part of your dangerous persona. Even your smile is terrifying ... to those in-the-know.

Villain With Good Publicity: You are universally perceived as a “good guy”: a beloved public figure with unquestionably high moral standing. This applies even if your private actions are villainous, dastardly or at directly odds with your official position: the PCs might know that Wilson Fisk, Oswald Cobblepot and Dolores Umbridge are evil, but good luck trying to convince anybody else of that. Any use, by you, of the Above the Law feat is seen as noble, virtuous and beyond reproach.

If you possess the Dual Identity class feature, you may apply whichever benefits you desire to your social identity and/or to your vigilante identity as you see fit (see Designer’s Note, below).

Special: You may gain both of these Traits, often by selecting the Additional Traits feat. If you do so, you may “nest” your reputations as you see fit.

For Example: Jocastus Steele possesses both of these and the Smooth, Fancy-Talkin’ Devil Trait; he is known publicly as a philanthropist and a popular (if eccentric) art-collector. However, amongst those who truly know him, Mr. Steel is considered an absolute monster who asks no questions about a job: he is often hired by criminal organizations to “disappear” targets they know to be innocent. In secret, Jocastus has never killed anyone, instead preferring to “abduct” his targets to much nicer homes. He uses his intimate knowledge of criminal organizations to bring them down from within, something no associate would ever expect from him ... in much the same way no one would ever suspect Darth Vader, Voldemort or the Joker.

Summary:
