How to Make a Yard Deer-Proof (Or at Least Deer-Resistant)
Opening: "This weekend, I caught a deer family treating my hostas like an all-you-can-eat buffet. Again. Iâm starting to think they have a group chat about my garden."
The Problem: Jacksonâs deer are relentless. Iâve tried sprays, fake owls, even human hair (weird, but desperate times). Nothing works. My flower beds look like a salad bar after a frat party.
The Discovery: I stumbled on Fiorelloâs About Us page (link), where they mentioned designing landscapes for âdeer-heavy areas.â Finally, someone who gets it. They even listed plants deer hateâlavender, Russian sage, boxwood. (Note to self: Plant nothing cute or leafy ever again.)
Takeaways:
Fencing is expensive, but native plants might be my cheap(er) savior.
Pro tip: Deer hate strong smells. Time to plant ALL the herbs.
Maybe Iâll just embrace the chaos and install a âDeer CafĂŠâ sign.
Closing: "Next step: A Pinterest board titled âYards That Look Good to Humans But Bad to Deer.â Wish me luck."
