For you, an excerpt from the story I intended to post for Horrorween, and didn't manage to finish in time!
“King Edmund, it has been many moons since our royal sister disappeared,” retorted the queen, standing very straight. “Many and many have gone to seek her, and found nothing of her, and no trace of her. According to the magic of the centaurs, the white magic from Aslan himself eons ago, there is no sign that our royal sister ever trod this land, though we know and remember that she was once here.”
“And yet,” he said in a voice of finality, “I go to seek her. We have sought during the day: perhaps the creatures of the night may know something more.”
“I would not that I lose you also, royal brother. And thy royal brother the High King Peter would be sore distressed at thy disappearance, I’ll warrant.”
“By the Lion’s Mane, I shall go,” exclaimed Edmund. “I cannot sit still here if there is the possibility of our sister still living. And the complete absence of her trace is what gives me hope: for it reeks of magic, the magic of Jadis the foul Witch. I believe I can break that magic and find her, if any can.”
“Bold words, royal brother. If thou art determined—Lion go with thee.” And she drew him towards her and kissed his forehead with all the solemnity ever practised by Queen Susan the Gentle of Narnia.
“I thank thee, royal sister: and with thy blessing, and that of Aslan himself, I shall go on my quest.”
I haven't finished this tale, but I hope you appreciate this snippet! @starsaroundsaturn forehead kisses, thought of you when I wrote it
