Horrorscope was the record Overkill had been working toward, even if it was the first without Bobby Gustafson: despite featuring two new guitarists, the band’s fifth record was a logical continuation of both The Years of Decay and Under the Influence that showcased the chops they had built over time.  To that end, “Blood Money” was a rip snorting charger with Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth’s snarky vocals and even more cantankerous lyrics, D.D. Verni’s stungun bass and no-nonsense thrash riffing from Merritt Gant and Rob Cannavino.  It was precisely what everyone was expecting from Overkill, only slightly refining what came before but progressing just enough to feel like they weren’t merely running in place.
