My GOODNESS. The Backrooms was Phenomenal. I'm heart is still racing just thinking about it the next day! Ugh! So! This part of the review will only have a basic overview of my opinion of the movie and my personal rating!

OVERVIEW

The Backrooms is a beautiful dark mirror to our truest selves- a terrifying dissection of how the confrontation with our own distorted memories and most hidden flaws will lead to a change that is inevitable and annihilating in every sense. To want for change is to SEEK it, not expect it. And to refuse it is to invite your ultimate end in an embrace that will consume you (or have you simply always been this way?). With incredible performances in such a unique and uncanny environment, The Backrooms is a journey you take right alongside its characters. Each scene within its endless and ever changing halls is something for everyone- something so specific and terrifying to each and every viewer that all who come out of the movie do so with their own scariest moment. Nostalgic, nightmarish, strange, and deeply unsettling, the Backrooms feels as though it reflects a memory you have no memory of. Like it was forced into your brain rather than something you ever perceived.

As a fan of the Backrooms since the early SCP days and a follower of Kane Parsons' back when he was still making "AOT Historical Footage", I've been dreaming of seeing another internet classic make it to the big screen for a long time. Not only was The Backrooms a treat for fans like myself, but Parsons wisely made the movie fresh and enjoyable for someone unfamiliar with the concept while still sprinkling in plenty of hints and references to his previous works.
