Okay, I just wanted to express how salty I am for Horatio not winning the fashion show. Mr. Bikkuri, you led readers to believe that was a possibility, and perhaps it still is in an alternate timeline to the actual story, but that was a very cruel joke. Especially to readers like me, who just wanted to see Horatio Hex, objectively the best character in Devil's Candy, in bedazzled cleats or maybe a fur lab-coat rocking those sentinels like the totally rad jerkwad mantis kid he is.
Okay, listen, I don’t want any lawsuits over this one. The truth is, Horatio won a different fashion show on the other side of town. Fresh out of the hospital, he was chasing after some poor sap who he intended to carve up for parts. Hoping to find safety in a crowded area, his victim unwitting ran onto The Runway of Torment. Horatio, with his superior speed and vision, deftly dodged the laser judgement of the Sentinels, who mistook him for an entrant.
When the show was over, he was the only person the Sentinels liked and he was pronounced the winner, much to the frustration of the other entrants. Horatio, who thinks fashion shows are insipid and never realized that he entered one in the first place, never came back to claim his prize, which was a lifetime supply of secretion wipes.
