just decided to make a ref for Hoots! as she's been lacking a proper one for quite some time now. Here are a bit of pointers and facts about her:
her tail is pretty thick at the base and fluffy. it's based a lot off of a sergal's tail, believe it or not. it's not as thin as a lion's.
though i color her in several shades of WHITE, the most common and accurate is the light ivory white shown above in the ref.
she's a normal lion x eagle gryphon, nothin special.
her heart marking has absolutely no symbolic meaning behind it. in fact, i've been trying to think of something it could represent for years now - nada.
she's about 5'4 tall. big hips, small chest.
she's friendly, emotional, and generous. will put other's feelings before her own in a heart beat. however, when she's mad she gets loud like a bird. and people often mistake her kindness for a weakness. but she's strong, and has the heart of a lion. (quite possibly literally)
she puffs up when she's angry, scared, excited as fuck, and embarassed. she never puffs up when she's cold. contrary to popular belief, birds puff up to release heat, not contain it.
Hoot doesn't lay eggs. I always figured that since a gryphon had the body of a lion (a mammal), they'd give LIVE birth. Hoot has LIVE babies. However, she can lay unfertilized eggs. She often uses them to egg people's houses.
In her feral form she's about the size of a grown male tiger.
OH and lately a common misconception is that Hoot is an MLP gryphon aha. She's not. Hoot's been around long before the fandom. She's my fursona. (and for those just now finding out, yes I'm a furry.)
