A behind the scenes peek when I was picking swatches for various shades of nude. A lot of time went into it, I wanted to make sure to capture the best variety of skintones possible. There should be more options in everything really,  hosiery, makeup and bras/undergarments! Last year I was shocked and motivated to make a change. I just couldn’t believe the sea of one shade of nude! It means a lot for women to feel included. Options!

I remember being 18 years old working for a delivery service loading box trucks and delivering home interiors products to midwestern women. I worked hard, lifting heavy boxes and drove far distances delivering just like all the guys. One day the female owner of the company was writing out checks in front of me. I saw that another guy who literally did the same exact job as me was paid $3 more an hour. I questioned it feeling an immediate sense of unfairness. I was told “well he’s a guy and he drives more” It was untrue about the driving and what did him just being a guy have anything to do with making more money! I never forgot this. I quit the job shortly after and have carried a sense of fighting to be paid fairly in me. I am a huge believer in asking for raises when deserved, asking early and often, fight for your worth and never be afraid to ask, get past the fear and it will get easier the more you do it. Hiring women now, it actually hurts when they accept my first offer. I want them to negotiate. It’s an important skill that can take you so much further if you can practice and master it. I love the quote “get comfortable with being uncomfortable” It’s really true. I want all of you women out there to go get it, get what you are worth to be paid! It’s out there, you have to be your own advocate!

Great quote from Winston Churchill. Don't be afraid to fail! We all have to put ourselves out there, learn from mistakes and follow what excites us. The most successful people have ALL failed at times! It's a part of the journey.

It all started with my very obvious insert turning sideways at the gym and noticing it in the mirror after class. I went on a mission to see if there was anything better out there. There wasn’t. I decided that I was going to change it. It took a year of early mornings, late nights and every weekend on top of a full time job. I did it, filed a utlity patent and launching a kickstarter campaign in October.

I bought so many types of bra styles analyzing existing sizing. A great fit is super important. Above is my sidekick Zoe taking a nap during work! I bought every existing insert on the market and was blown away by the lack of sizing. I honestly don't think they were fit on real women. Combined sizes B/C cup to D/DD, 1/4″ around difference for example are one brands total size offering. Hmmm.. 1/4″ doesn’t cover a B breast to a DD breast!!!

Annoyed by the lack of “nude” color options in 2016, I believe all women should have options and there is no 1-2 nude colors. It’s actually shocking if you think about it being 2016 and this is the color options!
