im losing my mind by myself about this darn jacket so im just getting it off my chest alright.
part 1
first, the bomber (or sukajan) jacket they wore had their own names and different animal motifs (changmin - dragon, yunho - tiger) at the front, and red ocean at the back. it was worn like this throughout day 1.
front and back of the jacket when worn the usual way.
then day 2 after STL, yh got knackered and didn't realise he took off and wore the jacket the reversed way. cm also only noticed it around the time they thanked the dancers. when yh was thanking the band, cm can be seen signalling to staff offstage about the jacket. he later reversed his own jacket to match yh's before they head off to thank the audience.
cm signaling to staff about the jacket and cm removing his jacket to turn it inside out.
so when they went around thanking the audience, their jacket designs were the same. the weird red horses with crowns at the front, and the back that says "tohoshinki 20 years anniversary 'til infinity".
part 2
a user posted on threads sharing that her father actually made the accessories for the sukajan jacket. in the comments, she answered a few questions from other bigeasts.
(1/1.5) they put an incredible amount of detail and care into making it. they had many meetings to discuss how it was going to be made.
(2) the animal at the front is a red horse - since 2026 is the year of the horse and toho's colour is red.
OP also included cute stories about how her father thought yh and cm's limbs were very long, how he kept it from her and her mother for a long while although they are bigeasts because he didn't want to mix work and private affairs, etc etc:) all very cute stories <3
part 3
i was curious about what a sukajan jacket was and the cultural significance of the designs. this is VERY superficial research on my side because i used like... 2 websites (1, 2) LMAO. anyone else who knows more pls feel free to pitch in:)
history of sukajan jackets and cultural significance today
The journey of the Sukajan jacket begins in the port city of Yokosuka in the years following World War II, where American servicemen wandered narrow streets in search of souvenirs that could capture their time in a country they never expected to call home. In the tailor shops and embroidery studios around the U.S. Naval Base, something extraordinary emerged—bomber jackets transformed into embroidered canvases filled with dragons, tigers, cherry blossoms, eagles, geisha, and Mount Fuji... For soldiers preparing to return home, these pieces functioned as visual diaries—a way to carry memories, emotions, and stories stitched into fabric. Over the decades, this hybrid garment evolved from wartime memento to counterculture symbol, from street-level rebellion to a sought-after luxury icon.
what the motifs mean
Dragons: Representing strength, wisdom, and protection, dragons are a powerful symbol in Japanese culture. They are often seen as benevolent creatures that bring good fortune and prosperity. On a Sukajan jacket, the dragon is a mark of power and resilience. Tigers: Known for their bravery and fierceness, tigers in Sukajan embroidery symbolize courage and leadership. The tiger is often depicted in bold, dynamic poses, capturing its strength and nobility.
from the cross-cultural nature of the jacket itself, its emergence in a time of rebellion and struggle, its storytelling nature, to the description of the motifs, this is all very tvxq/ yunho & changmin-like to me:))
part 4
other tidbits about the red horse. funnily enough 2026 is the year of the red fire horse. cm has likened yh's singlemindedness towards his goals to a racehorse and yh in response spoke about learning to widen his field of vision. at the start of the year, they also shared similar sentiments (or difference in sentiments?) at the start of this year when they shared their new year messages on weverse:
yh: do everything you want to do this year! and make sure to achieve it!! cm: 2026 is the year of the red horse! it is the year of byeong-o. rather than running like a racehorse, looking only straight ahead... with a wide field of view in front, behind, left and right, have a year of steady progress towards your goals!
what does this mean
honestly nothing much, and i could just be reading way too much into all of this LOL. it's just really sweet to me how they created these set of 2 jackets together, etched their individual styles and personalities on it, especially on a type of clothing that is about telling your personal story and experience. the jacket that we first saw showed how 2 different types of people were brought together by 1 red ocean. and perhaps what's even sweeter to me, is that on the inside of the jacket, the side that was revealed (seemingly) accidentally rather than intentionally, was a shared determination to continue tohoshinki for a long time, well beyond the already long 20 years. this side too, was portrayed by wonky drawings of horses and idk, red polar bears (???) rather than the refined art style presented on the other side, perhaps tells me a little about how they see themselves :)

yunho on changmin: "changmin has always been working next to me. he's never complained and has always worked hard in a quiet manner. when i see him i can feel his strong sense of responsibility. besides, we trust each other so much that i really have nothing more to say about what changmin does." — Numéro TOKYO (Jan/Feb 2025 special)

Changmin’s eyes flick to the display. It’s now or never. The elevator is quickly approaching its destination, and if he doesn’t act now, he won’t be able to catch Yunho later.
