i find it pretty messed up that people will bend over backwards to make sure an animal like a dog or a cat isnt out on the street and has a warm place to sleep and a bowl of food.
but when it comes to homeless PEOPLE nobody gives a shit. in fact, they are actively hostile about it. instead of leaving some food out or a blanket, homeless people get called gross or scary and have the cops called on them.
these are human beings. who clearly have no other place to go, no one to turn to, no one who can help them. but does the average american help them? no
as a society we put spikes on the benches and tear down their tents. we throw out everything they own and sometimes toss them in jail
NO ONE is doing this to homeless dogs and cats. we see a homeless pet and we want to help them. we see a homeless person and we move to the other side of the street
it just disgusts me that people will care about one but not the other. all living things deserve compassion
