Currently laying in my grandmothers bed in North Carolina and from the window I can hear the dirt being dug in our family cemetery known as the Family Gardens for my great grandmother to be laid to rest. It is going to be a hard day. A beautiful, sunny, hard day. We’re all wearing florals or shades of pinks, greens, and blues. My great grandma’s favorite color was pink and her favorite scent rose. She loved to garden and her last request was to sit outside, there she rubbed a plant between her hands and stared out over her property where she planted tomatoes, flowers, an apple tree and tended to chickens over the years. It is also where she laid to rest her three brothers and her son. I held her hand two weeks ago, she brought my hand to her lips and sang, “I love you.” I did the same to her. I have been so lucky to have known her. To be fed, loved, nurtured and inspired by her.

My pastor 's grandmother -in-law, his wife's grandma, Granny Blake, has lived to see all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren come to Salvation. What an amazing blessing! Now God is calling her home, after a life well lived.
