2020 Swecon World RX of Sweden - Saturday.
After a year away Johan Kristoffersson returned to FIA World RX with two heat wins, a semi-final win and (most importantly) a final win. He, along with his Polo R rallycross car, was the class of Saturday's racing winning in drying, dry and (come final time) very wet conditions. Kristoffersson added to his two previous victories at the Holjes Motorstadion with a measured performance that showed composure and blinding speed in equal measure.
Mattias Ekström hadn't expected to be racing this weekend in the KYB Team JC Audi S1 but did a fantastic job to claim second position in the rain soaked final. He admitted to be very pleased although (naturally) he would have preferred to be on the top rather than second step of the podium.
Third overall was an excellent result for Anton Marklund who had been promoted to the final after a penalty for Robin Larson after some 'forceful' driving.
Marklund was impressive in his Bilstein GCK Renault Megane - showing great speed throughout the event.
Timo Schider (SEAT Ibiza), Niclas Grönholm (Hyundai i20) and Timmy Hansen (Peugeot 208) rounded out the final of a drama filled and highly exciting first round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship.
Holjes hosts round two of the championship tomorrow with more spills and thrills expected!
