You can really tell when the food is homemade in a restaurant when everything is homemade. The menu, the decorations, the employees. Honestly if you told me they built the cash register and the cooking equipment I’d laugh because that’s a pretty solid joke that highlights how homemade everything is. But the cash register is one of those new fangled swivel registers and the cooking equipment is Maytag or something. Factories are not homes.
I’ve been here a couple times now and have gotten the croissant sandwiches (twice with just egg and cheese, once with bacon) and a single shot of espresso. I call it the “vegetarian because it’s a little cheaper but I also gotta do stuff in the evening” combo. The espresso is top notch especially when I doll it up with some cinnamon and chocolate to make it a little sweet treat. I’m sure I get plenty of sugar in my diet so I keep my espresso sugar pure. Unless I’ve been a good boy and treat myself. And what a trinity the croissant, egg, and cheese sandwich is. The croissant is as buttery as the day is bright. If you pureed this sandwich I think you’d get cream cheese. SO DAMN SMOOTH! Mix all this in my tummy and I’m predicting a dump that leaves me feeling very warm and fuzzy.
For the bathroom, you have to go through the back kitchen Goodfellas style which is pretty cool. While waiting I also noticed that there’s another back room used as a multi-addiction meeting place. Sex, drugs, alcohol… You’ll find friends here. The bathroom itself is very green and bright and clean. It feels like pooping inside of an unripened banana.
How could I hate this homemade belly blast? Sure, mixing buttery croissants with espresso isn’t going to give you the fullest of dumps. But the environment definitely will. And what I ate definitely felt like it cleaned everything out, sort of like dumping out a junk drawer and not caring what the hell was in there.
