Rhys stifled a laugh, covering his mouth with his hand, still swallowing down a mouthful of mashed potatoes when his boyfriend sounded so surprised by his rather ridiculous statement. It was true, though, the potatoes were some of the best he had ever tasted, which was saying something because his brother always made the best food in his mind.

" They- they're just s- so good, " he giggled with embarrassment, his cheeks hot red and a wide grin forever plastered to his features.

He swirled his spoon around in the fresh bowl of mashed potatoes as his giggles slowed, only looking up at Eli when he was invited to his parents. His brows quirked upward in slight surprise. Honestly, he was pretty sure he had never met Elijah's parents before. Not yet, anyway... And as much as he loved the mashed potatoes, he wasn't sure he was ready for meeting new people at such a short notice, especially Eli's parents. Still... It was something he needed to do and maybe this was the perfect opportunity for it.
