My favorite camera body of all time has been the Nikon d610. I find its combination with the Sigma 35mm ART the best in my bag and every time I have to carry something light while not on assignment, they are my go to kit. (Compared to my 85mm, 70-200, 16-28) Last Friday, I got robbed of my dearest combination while I was in Masaka to see an old time Friend of mine, with whom we hadn’t met in almost 3 years. The camera was picked from my car at my friend’s compound. It wasn’t locked. I didn’t picture a possibility of a theft happening in this place. It only took 7 minutes if diverted attention and BOOM! The bag was gone. I tend to think that it was some sort of carelessness on my end too but hey... I did nothing wrong by paying for my own stuff. I have been looking through the last assignment the beloved combination did with me and I came across this portrait I did recently in Hoima for Mzeei. Shot on the same body and same lens that thieves in Nyendo now poses. Much as it hurts to lose something, I am thinking that by the time I reach this age, that experience will not matter at all. I will be thinking about bigger experiences. So, I am deciding to create my semi-retirement because I realize it’s one of the best thing I can ever do for myself. I have started to envision what I would like my life to be like if I had more time. Don’t get me wrong. I am not retiring. I am graduating. #nikon #35mm #d610 #portraitmood #bnw #men #photo_journalism #retire #retirement #grand #beard #light #windows #kampala #hoima #malaria #Jjumba_martin (at Hoima) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtxbDL2FwxF/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=10ldo1zjo7b4f
