His presence was grounding, like a charm I didn't know I needed. I could feel the steady beat of his heart, and for a moment, I let myself melt into it.

But the morning was calling, and so was reality.

Carefully, I slipped out from under his arm, trying not to wake him. My feet padded across the cool stone floor as I picked up my shirt from where it had landed last night—half-tangled with his robes, a mess of midnight laughter and whispered secrets. I pulled it over my head, the scent of him still lingering in the fabric, and made my way to the bathroom.

When I returned, Blaise was stirring, his dark curls tousled and eyes still heavy with sleep.

"Morning, love," he yawned, voice husky and low.

"Morning," I said softly, my smile blooming without effort as I walked back to him.

He opened his arms instinctively, and I climbed onto the bed, curling into him like I belonged there. My head found its place in the crook of his neck, and his arms wrapped around me, pulling me closer until there was no space between us.

"You're so beautiful," he murmured, his fingers tracing lazy circles on my back.

I laughed quietly, brushing a kiss against his jaw. "Mm, you're prettier. But I'll let you think otherwise."

He smirked, that familiar glint in his eyes, and pulled me down for a kiss—slow, tender, like he had all the time in the world.

"I love you..." he whispered, voice trailing off like a promise.
