"Not to be forward, well maybe I am but how do you feel about having a coffee with a doctor who’s just had a crappy day?” Gerry gave a half laugh. "Having some human company would be nice right now.”

Belle bit her lip, a slightly embarrassed look on her features. “If you heard a crashing sound in there, it was totally not me dropping a pile of plates.” She paused. “Okay, it was. And it’s a mess. Is it totally cheeky to ask you to help me? There’s a mix of food and glass everywhere.”

Breaching the surface of the water, Thomas let out a breath and brushed his hair back from his face. It was a nice day and so he’d assumed that it would be at least a little bit warm in the sea, but he had been proven wrong. He made his way back to the shore, rubbing at his cold arms. “Okay, you were right. It’s actually really cold,” he called out with a sheepish grin. Heading straight for his towel, he wrapped it around his shoulders and sat down again, staring out at the horizon. Water dripped down from his hair, so he used a corner of his towel to dry his face quickly. “When does it get warmer?” he asked with a small frown, disappointed that he couldn’t enjoy a swim that day.

“I’m tellin’ ya, this kid beat my arse so hard at Mario Kart...it was insane. Clearly I need to step up my Nintendo Switch game if I’m going to beat him the next time I see him again.” Her current case that she and her ada partner were working involved the victim having a kid, and often times if they needed to talk to his mom the son came with. Surprisingly enough, her caseload was pretty light, and kids tended to be more comfortable talking with someone who understood them. Hence Kita getting her ass whooped when she played a few rounds of Mario Kart on the son’s Switch as she talked with him. “Now if it’d been a Gameboy, I would’ve had a better chance.” She chuckled, shaking her head. Taking a sip from her beer, she gestured with the bottle to the person she’d been talking to at the bar. “How was your day? Hopefully more interesting than getting your butt kicked by an 8 year old.” Kita smirked.
