On to Battletech!! I painted a good few more mechs than this over last year, I just don’t have any pictures of them floating around.
These are my favorite big stompy idiots that I got from the Mercenaries kickstarter. In order they’re an Ostroc, Hoplite, Kraken, and Blood Asp
I’ve wanted an Ostroc ever sense I did some damage with one at a grinder at Adepticon 2023, and the CGL sculpt doesn’t disappoint.
The Hoplite might be my favorite mech period. Something about being a weird oval on legs just fuckin rules!
The heaviest I love for pretty identical reasons. Big weird lookin dudes with a nearly sarcastic number of guns

A quick WIP from this week! After list changes the Ballistus will be seeing some play over the Redemptor so that I can actually have some board presence. Still quite a bit to do but after looking at the model more I won't have to paint as much iron colour so that's exciting.
I put together a Shame Shelf to prominently display all our unfinished minis to:
a) get them off of the dining room table
b) motivate me to get them painted

WIP Wednesday! (A concept unabashedly stolen from Grimlord games as I eagerly anticipate their release of village attacks) The Festivus Arborus from the winter wonderland crew is coming together, along with the ice gamin. I couldn’t resist ordering this crew from Wyrd during their holiday sale and have been waiting till I could get them primed (winters in New England make for slow hobby progress sometimes). This spirited golem will be the first Arcanist model I’ve painted and the gateway to that faction I’m sure. So far they do not disappoint with the personality that goes into the models and this crew is going to be amazing to have painted up and ready for the table. Unfortunately Rasputina herself will likely be the last member I paint up as she will require some free hand work and she is currently in sub assemblies to make painting easier. With a little luck though she may hit the table within a week or two. More updates inbound as I get off my lazy butt and do the work in front of me
I’ve really been at a hobby low recently. Haven’t played many if any games and spent even less time painting and modelling. However the last few weeks I have been spent some time trying to base the models from my Deathwatch Overkill box. Aiming for that industrial look, and so far I feel it looks decent. Wasn’t that difficult either. Might try to include some piping and cabling as well on the base, we’ll see.
I felt that with the MK3 Legion of Everblight and Cryx factions being... sub-par (especially Cryx), and not really interesting, it was time for something completely different. Who knows, maybe I’ll even like 40k 8th ed, when and if it is released.
Combined arms gooooooo!
