Airbrushing red over black is just as hard as I've always heard. 💜

I've been working on a custom Chapter for the past few weeks and finally got to painting up a test model. 🖤

Bereft of heart and home, and tempest-tossed — still I stand.

These conditions are not conducive to my creative process, but we’re still going. 🖤

I've got a home again so I finally have both the time to work on my ever-expanding backlog of Combat Patrols and the space to keep them. I really went on a tear this week, building the last 6 Guardian Defenders and the extra Wraithguard for the Aeldari patrol and the entirety of the Chaos Space Marine patrol with the additional Chaos Terminators. The CSM kits were a nightmare. There were so many typos that I had to repeatedly stop in the middle and take stock of all the bits in the instructions to find the odd-one-out before I could move on; just an absolute pain in the ass. Next up is the Ork patrol -- I've got another week off before starting my new job (assuming I pass the drug screen and the last month spent sans-cannabis wasn't wasted) but I do not expect to keep up this pace without burning out. But progress is progress. 💜

Still chewing through these Terminators. I really like this vibrant yellow plate but goddamn, Averland Sunset is a pain to use. It’s been taking about 6 layers to get a decent base – I might be thinning my paint too much, but still, huge pain in my ass.

Also, here’s a little preview of what’s done so far. They’ll get their proper glamour shots when I’ve finished the whole unit.
