♡ + childhood?
Katakuri’s childhood was one of the happier ones; compared to, say, Pudding’s. He wasn’t regarded as a freak but rather as a future asset to his family and crew. Mostly. Incredibly privileged --- both as the son of a Yonkou and one of the more gifted ones --- he didn’t suffer nearly as much abuse as his siblings.
Yet, still, it was there; it just wasn’t as physical. He was pressured to become and stay absolutely perfect, as he wasn’t born as hard and diligent and infallible as he would come to be upon becoming a Commander. His mother’s love seemed absolutely conditional and he bent backwards to keep that love.
