Cuz like, one detail I keep remembering is the fact that Purple themself, went out into the Nether to collect quartz to distribute to the villagers. They didn't send anyone else out to do it like how kings would usually do. They went out into the dangerous nether and got it by hand.

And the villagers liked Purple enough to make them a whole statue

So like, Purple obviously cared for them and I'm personally headcanoning they probably learned how from taking care of Orchid...
