What you don’t learn in CBI
What Ali taught us in CBI:
Be mindful. Rewire the monkey brain. Understand deeply. Visualize. Disregard face. Take quiet breaks. Stay away from smartphones. Get off the hedonic treadmill. Put it on paper. Savour your food. Keep track of time. Make connections. Make art. Embrace chaos and complexity. Remember: There is Only Now.
And to that, we humbly submit our own contributions on how to be creative:
Write randomly. Swirl ideas in your head. Scratch said head. Swivel your chair around. Laugh at anything and everything. Live fast and die young. Watch another funny video. Procrastinate. Pretend to use Design Thinking. Pull pranks. Do drugs, but not the hard stuff. Sneer at bankers. Stay away from accounting. Let the monkey brain chatter. Get your heart broken. Stare blankly into the horizon. And most importantly, don’t be afraid of taking a dumb major like BDI.
