“Something calls to me/The trees are drawing me near/I’ve got to find out why...” (”Tuesday Afternoon” by the Moody Blues) At first glance, this seems like an ordinary tree in Madison Square Park. But, if it could talk, the tree would tell us about its history:) It was originally from the Virginia estate of former President James Madison. The tree was planted here, in 1936, to mark the 100th anniversary of the opening of Madison Avenue. (Photo taken on January 10, 2019)
