Design

The overall design of the car is incredibly futuristic. It seems to be a product of what most sci-fi films have been aiming for. I feel the designers would have taken a lot of inspiration from sci-fi films with this and why not? we watch them and we think how cool it would be to actually have the car. With blue neon lights illuminating around the grill amongst other places, I have a feeling to expect this to be the bench mark of design to where other car manufacturers will be aiming for. It has a very masculine feel to it, and about time if you ask me. There are many cars being produced to be environmentally friendly, but they look just that FRIENDLY. Car makers have been taming the design of their cars making them seem very feminine, resulting in a lot of abuse from other men. (think ‘The other guys’ Prius jokes, tampon on wheels etc) 

I have been wanting an environmentally friendly car for a while now, but haven’t managed to find one that has looked sporty or that looks masculine enough to justify my decision. Lets be honest i’m sure there is a part of us that care about the environment, me especially, but i’m not going to drive something that looks like a hairdryer on wheels. This car is what I have been looking for, or the closest to it. 

The only downside I would draw upon the design is the back of the vehicle looks slightly cramped and forced together. However I bet once I see the car in person those feelings will diminish rapidly.  

Performance

BMW have made 2 versions available for engine options.

Standard version

80-100 miles to the battery 

Range extender version 

Has a built in smaller twin cylinder 650cc petrol engine which will act as a dynamo to power the battery on emergency

160-185 miles 

Trim options 

Each trim comes with its own unique twist in creating a miniature world within the space of the vehicle. Think along the same lines of if you were furnishing your living space it has options which are all quite unique to the various taste trends. Going from your classic standard leather finish to my favourite which is the ‘loft’ option, which is quite futuristic. 

  Prices

Starting from £26,560 this car isn’t exactly cheap but for the brand you are buying into you can only expect the highest and longest lasting quality there is. We hope to test drive one and have a video review posted ASAP so watch this space.
